From the outset of its foundation, the Adalbert Stifter Association has sort to encourage individual artists or academics in their work. Its support is not only in the form of arranging annual meetings with artists, such as were held well into the eighties, or help the realisation of exhibitions and author readings but also to assist financially.

This form of assistance has been confered regularly since the end of 1980.

Four scholarships are awarded every year, each in the amount of 500 €.

Eligible applicants are students, academics, artists etc., whose work or research focuses on the culture and history of the Germans in the Bohemian Regions, especially their interaction with Czech and other cultures of this area.

An informal request with a clear description of the planned project or activity concerned as well as some personal data is sufficient enough to be considered in the application procedure.

The executive committee of the Adalbert Stifter Association decides at its regular meetings who are to be awarded the scholarships.
