was born in 1952 in Munich
. He studied German and History. He was promoted to PhD with a thesis
on the literary and historiography representations of the "Fall
of the Danube Monarchy". He has worked for Bavarian Radio,
Goethe-Institute and was active in the Scouts’ Union. He has been
managing director at the Adalbert Stifter Association since 1986.
Mr Becher is the publisher/co-publisher and author/co-author of
numerous publications on the literature and cultural history of
the Bohemian Regions. He is a member of the Czech PEN-Club and the
Co-ordination Council of the Czech-German Discussion Forum.

Jozo Džambo, |
|
|
was born in Novi Šeher/Bosnia-Herzegovina
in 1949. He has a degree in Slavonic studies, History and Linguistics.
He was promoted to Doctor of Philosophy at the Ruhr-University Bochum
in the subject of Medieval history with a thesis on the Franciscan
Order. He was active at the Bavarian National Museum and at the
Institute for German and Comparable Folklore at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University
in Munich. Other work includes translations, works on historical
cultural and literature history, especially in the southeast European
area.
Has been a scientific assistant
to the Adalbert Stifter Association since January 1992. He is also
the editor responsible for the Stifter Annual.

Knechtel M.A. |
|
|
was born in Wiesbaden in
1959. She has pursued German and Slavonic studies in Mainz, Berlin,
Naples and Prague, focusing on 1960s and 1970s Czech literature.
She has taught Czech and German in Berlin and Prague , worked as
a journalist at Radio Prague, the international service of Czech
Radio, and was an expert advisor at the office of the Czech-German
Fund for the Future in Prague. Her other activities include translations
and the publication of works on cultural and regional themes.
She has been a scientific
assistant to the Adalbert Stifter Association since April 2001.

Wolfgang Schwarz |
|
|
was born in Regensburg in
1968. He studied history and Political Science in Regensburg , with
focus on twentieth century foreign policy and dictatorships. He
was promoted to PhD at Regensburg University with a thesis on relations
between the former East Germany and Czechoslovakia . He did further
educational studies at Bohemicum, Regensburg and was active at Tandem,
the co-ordination centre of Czech-German youth exchange programmes
in Regensburg. He acted as an expert advisor to the office of the
Czech-German Fund for the Future in Prague .
He has been active as the
culture advisor on the Bohemian lands at the Adalbert Stifter Association
since April 2002.
